Know What I Hate?

When I walk outside in my sandals to harvest cabbage/pull carrots/let the chickens out and the grass is really long and soaking wet and the bottoms of my feet get all wet and then start slipping and sliding around on my sandals and get all muddy and EEEEEE!!!

Yeah. That. Hate.

If I lived where you live, I don't know that I would even own sandals.

Spoken, admittedly, as someone who has lived his whole live in the suburbs yet only wears sandals at the beach. Not "to" the beach, "at" the beach. I change when I get there.

So yeah, not much of a sandal-wearer here.

Maybe there's a reason why some people like to wear socks with sandals

Yep, that's why I wear socks with my sandals(not flip flops)...I can throw my socks in the wash...my feet...not so much. Beth

You really should experience stepping in a fresh cow pie while going barefoot to get good squish and slide.

I got these rubber sandals, which are actually attractive, but they are meant to be worn on the beach or in the pool. So somehow I don't care as much that my feet are getting wet, and the dampness doesn't ruin anything leather. Mary in MN (where the weather is perfect! sorry all you on the east coast).

Now how did that happen!

This is what cowboy boots are for.

But as a place which, 90% of the time, has 1.) crazy humidity that = massive amounts of dew on grass in the mornings and 2.)temperatures sweltering into the upper 90's at 8am, I feel your flip-flop pain. I repeat, cowboy boots are the answer to your problem.

Just please, please, don't wear socks with your flip-flops. Biggest yankee fashion mistake EVER!!! Come on, you remember being in the south and laughing at yankee tourists with socks and sandals...

Yes, but Alicia, no one ever SEES me with the socks and sandals. I am sure Kristin wouldn't wear them beyond the house if she chose to wear them . :)

Beth,

Well I suppose if no one saw you, it's okay. :)

That was so me this morning (minus the chickens). I'm totally with you on hating wet muddy sandal feet.

Oh yes, I also hate when bug/slug happens to make it's way between your foot and the sandal while you're walking and you step down and SQUISH - YUCK.
