The Height of Mid-Winter Luxury

I fiiiiiinally got to the small grocery store in the village on Thursday, and even more amazing, the produce was actually decent. This is most often not the case at this small store. Maybe they re-stock on Thursdays?

Anyway, this means I am now in possession of such thrilling items as broccoli and bell peppers. Even highly perishable mushrooms! It's a mid-winter vegetable bonanza!

And that means . . .

Stir fry for dinner, HELL YEAH.

It doesn't take much to generate excitement in January.

Oh that looks so yummy! I could just eat vegetables for every meal (well, maybe not breakfast!) but my husband requires meat, meat & more meat!

Linda: I'm in the same situation, which is why I also cooked a pan full of beef in addition to the stir fry. That way, A. can satisfy his inner raging carnivore by eating a plate full of meat with a token serving of vegetables, and I can add a small amount of the meat to my bowl of vegetables. Marriage is all about compromises. :-)

YES! I see you use cast iron cookware! The very best! And the stir fry looks good too!

I've been craving fresh fruits and vegetables. I made minestrone soup yesterday with several veggies from the freezer, and it was soooo satisfying!
