Add spices near the end because I don't like spices that have been cooked to death. I think they lose their flavor and have a burnt taste. This cooks down quickly (before I get bored with it) doesn't need a whole lot of added sugar and thickens nicely and has tons of apple flavor, all because of the cider. Oh, if it needs any sweetener I add it near the end so it doesn't end up way too sweet.

Sheila ZAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6506305897742962637.post-35058685119345450042010-10-27T18:29:37.859-06:002010-10-27T18:29:37.859-06:00I like my apple butter in the crockpot. And online shopping!) while the apple butter reduces. Yum. And the house smells soooooo good.Daisyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11647906900944224234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6506305897742962637.post-77628825495856269822010-10-27T08:21:58.050-06:002010-10-27T08:21:58.050-06:00Got to say, with my muted sweet sensitive taste bu...Got to say, with my muted sweet sensitive taste buds I'd have to go with the Ball version. I'm impressed that you hung in as long as you did! Sounds really yummy though. Enjoy, because you'll not be experiencing all those homemade extras you visit.tu merenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6506305897742962637.post-70129644566106698802010-10-27T07:23:08.379-06:002010-10-27T07:23:08.379-06:00Don't feel bad. And baked with it, too. Sometimes "mistakes" turn out great. I mean, when you think about it, isn't the sauce more versatile than the butter anyway?Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17609935946446301674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6506305897742962637.post-82526340157276205212010-10-27T07:17:19.068-06:002010-10-27T07:17:19.068-06:00Mmmm apple kinda-butter...Mmmm apple kinda-butter...Aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03911580760830992999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6506305897742962637.post-85578625482053441502010-10-27T06:26:34.353-06:002010-10-27T06:26:34.353-06:00Yikes!
