How I Spent My Saturday Afternoon

Sitting on the lakeshore.
Eating.
Drinking wine.
Talking. (With real, actual people--not just my dogs.)
Listening to a band play Johnny Cash covers.
Watching the sun set over the lake.
Staring into a bonfire.

What did you do yesterday afternoon, duckies?

  1. Wow. That sounds amazing!

I went to sleep at 7 AM, woke up about 4 hours later, walked through the park and ate some brunch at this Malaysian place in the West 70's, went home and collapsed on the couch until 6 PM or so and then joined a couple of friends at their new apartment which had a "terrace" and a "view" that turned out to be a giant outdoor space with 180 degree views of central park, the hudson river and even the statue of liberty, also there was a dog named Oscar. But really...."views"....sheesh.

  2. Sounds like a great day! I finished report cards for my class of fourth graders, transplanted some daffodil bulbs, did laundry, and watched my favorite baseball team play a great game! Go Brewers!

  3. Napping on my porch swing - my FAVORITE thing in the world to do - after getting up way too damn early to take my daughter to a job interview at the Ritz-Carlton of horse stables.

Then the boyfriend and I went to the worst improv comedy show I've ever been subjected to in my life. All of the alleged improv-ers are friends of ours, so I can't even bitch on Twitter or Facebook about how mind-numbingly bad it was.

  4. Sounds heavenly!

I did some laundry and relaxed until I had to leave for a graduation dinner.

  5. Oh nice! Finally you have your time at the lake after all that winter torturing.

I ran 11 miles and then roamed the nursery with Bubba looking for my kumquat tree. We had lots of wine with our dinner - that we grilled outside because it's summer WOO! Not bad on my end, although there wasn't a lake or fake Johnny Cash involved.

    So sad.
