Yesterday I harvested one of our huge green cabbages. The cabbage was so big, about the size of a volleyball-verging-on-basketball, that I weighed it. It weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces. The MiL remarked that that was A.'s exact weight when he was born.
I found that inexplicably hilarious.
That gives new meaning to Cabbage Patch Kids!
ReplyDeleteHa! That is funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going to do with it?
Ha! I'm willing to guess that the MIL was also thinking to herself that it would've been a lot easier if she had been able to harvest A. from a field instead of bringing him into the world the old-fashioned way.
ReplyDeleteMaria: I used less than a quarter of it to make coleslaw last night. Which leaves me with about six pounds to go. And 11 more cabbages in the garden, for a grand total of 84 POUNDS of cabbage. Us? Overdo? Never.
ReplyDeleteBrings to new meaning to "Cabage Patch Kids".
ReplyDeleteToo funny, are you going to make sauerkraut??? I cant' wait to make some, none of mine is ready to harvest yet.
Moms never forget the birth weights of their children!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, I'd like it boiled with salt and butter. Me? Irish? Wha?
ReplyDeletebut at least his head wasn't that size...
ReplyDeleteWow. That IS funny! And scary. That's a lot of cabbage.
ReplyDeleteGuess you have a lot of burned cabbage in your future, eh?
The boyfriend and I were just talking about Duchess' burned cabbage the other day. Time to make some!
