That pretty much says it all about the weather the past few days. I've been trying to stay indoors as much as possible. This kind of weather is just inhospitable.
Mia and Rita say the couch in the kitchen is very hospitable and that's where you'll find THEM, thanks.
I must say the 'lounge queens' do look very comfy and cozy. Looks like a good thing for the human poplulation of 'blackrock' to be doing to , if at all possible.
They're wishing they were long-haired collies. :) Love that they have a couch of their own. Our dogs sneak into beds during the day when they think no one is going to know.
Once again I'm making a comment that has nothing to do with your post based on some tiny detail I noticed in your photo -- but have I ever told you I LOVE kitchens that are wallpapered?!
I think when I die I will come and haunt Blackrock (in a friendly way, promise) because I never got to live there.
Ooh, I like your couch. I keep telling my daughter that I'm turning her bed into one like that when she leaves us for good. She is not amused. I won't have happy dogs like that on it, though: just a pet rabbit or two.
Haley: No. "Original to the house" would mean, in this area of the house, the 1920s, since that's when the kitchen addition was built. In the rest of the house, "original" is the 1860s. Wallpaper doesn't last that long. The kitchen wallpaper is from I think the 60s or 70s. It is also peeling and dirty and really needs to be replaced. It's on a long, long list of such things.
I'm not sure how you could resist squeezing yourself between those two loves and taking a self-portrait.
I simply cannot resist dogs all cozied up like that.
Which is probably why Jada gives me the sketch-eye when I come into the bedroom and she's all snuggly in her bed. She knows what's coming. And she's not excited about it.

Methinks I spy a mousetrap under the couch. Must be some pesky rodents about!
ReplyDeleteJust when we think we know Blackrock, you post a photo of some new, undiscovered nook like this, and I want to visit even more.

That wallpaper is fabulous! Is it original to the house?
