The Trickle Before the Flood

Yesterday, I made a tomato salad for lunch. This morning, I had a tomato with my egg. And before you know it, the harvesting will be in full swing and the canner won't be put away for months.

Brace yourselves. The Tomato Crazy is a'comin'.

  4. tomato sandwiches, tomato pie, tomato tomato, tomato bacon lettuce, tomato italian dressing basil, tomato on every sandwich, tomato cottage cheese, tomato spinach salad, tomato pizza, tomato juice,tomato salsa, so glad for tomatoes !! Beth

  5. oh just quit yer damn braggin' *grin* I've got 10 pounds of bacon in the fridge and not a tomato in sight thanks to the groundhog invasion.

  6. woooooooooo! It's tomato glut time!

    I am, at this very moment, preparing for my first canning session with the tomatoes.

    I've already done 4 pints of salsa verde and 12 pints of pickles and now it's time for the big dogs.

    Though I've yet to pick a 2 pounder. Closest I got today was a 1 lb 6 5/8 ouncer.

    Fun times. Ready the canner!
