No thanks to Charlie. He didn't want to celebrate his three-month birthday yesterday by planting garlic. He thought we should be inside woodstove-bathing:
The winter alternative to nekkid baby time on the lawn.
He was happy on a blanket outside with us for about as long as it took A. to dig the garlic bed for me. Then the MiL took him so I could actually plant the garlic, and that didn't go so well.
Gardening is not a particularly calming and therapeutic activity with a background soundtrack of a baby screaming.
But! I did get the garlic in the ground, all 100 cloves of it. Let winter begin.
A three-month-old's smile is one of the most gorgeous things in the world.
ReplyDeleteHappy three-month-day, Charlie!
He does look happy as a clam. :) Beth
ReplyDeleteHappy 3 month birthday, Charlie! You are such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteHe is absolutely adorable. Love those chubby cheeks! I'm so impressed that you got the garlic in! That is a lot of work. You are within 1 month of finding smoother sailing. Everything baby seemed to get a little bit easier by month 4 (despite moving out of our house and battling a flood of course).
ReplyDeleteSo glad go hear y'all had a good enough weather day to be outside to plant. Charlie looks as healthy and happy as I remember. As for the crying, minor annoyance for a grandparent, major for mom. You did good handing off and finishing what needed to get done!
ReplyDelete100 cloves. Wow. How much space do you plant with garlic? I put in a couple dozen bulbs so that *maybe* I could make my own garlic braid next summer.
ReplyDeleteYou know, because buying one at the farm stand for $20 is crazy.
