We're leaving Christmas Day for Arizona. My father has instructed me to pack swim suits for the kids, so they can swim in my parents' heated pool. It took some doing to locate swim suits--those not being items we have used or will be using for some time--but I did.
My mother sent me an e-mail saying she was going on a liquor run. She was already planning on getting me gin and tonic, but she wanted to check if there was anything else she should get.
It's going to be 65 degrees (or warmer) and nothing but sun the entire ten days we're there.
I'm anticipating a very merry Christmas. And I wish the same to all of you, my lovelies, wherever you may be.
i cannot imagine why anybody wants to go anywhere warm, especially in winter, which is when all the really good cold weather happens.
ReplyDeletedid i mention that i like snow? i even like sleet.
twenty degrees out? perfect weather for camping.
i would be all full of sympathy for you having to go somewhere where one might not need snowpants to go outside, but you seem to be looking forward to it, as inexplicable as that seems.
have a lovely time, though. may your gin be chilled and your travel uncomplicated.
I know you will have a great time visiting your parents.
ReplyDeleteWishing a Merry Christmas to your family and safe travels.
I like winter better than summer, and I wouldn't really want to live in weather like Tucson's again. But winter is so long and gray and challenging here with two little kids that a week or so in a place where I don't have to dress them in five articles of extra clothing to leave the house is a nice break.
ReplyDeletePlus, my parents have a dishwasher, which is such a luxury to me I can never get over it.
We have a high of 3 above here in the Twin Cities today. So enjoy the warm weather! Mary in MN
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful vacation for you guys.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas ....Kristin and family.
You can come home with a vacation tan. ;) Beth
