Yesterday it was 62 degrees with some sun. Okay, so it was windy, too, but it's almost always windy here and still! Sixty-two degrees! At the beginning of February!
Our high temperature today, however . . . well, that's supposed to be 22 degrees. The wind is still blowing madly, AND there's snow out there.
And our low tonight? Six. That's it. Just six. No digit in front of or behind that six.
My poor
baby lettuces will need to be covered with a blankie (not a joke--I literally cover the frames with old bedding), and we'll all just have to ride it out until sixty degrees returns again.
How's the weather where you are?
Similar. Not as cold. Sixty-five degrees and 29 percent humidity on Sunday. Thirty-five degrees and 80 percent humidity on Monday, with added bonus of 25-35 mph winds. Supposedly snow today, mid-20s for temps, though judging from the window condensation, it's not really cold enough for snow yet.
ReplyDeleteNot enough sun up here for baby lettuces. Would be nice though.
We desperately need the mud to dry out before calving begins in earnest. It's been muddy for a year, and we've had enough.
Karen.
Similar. I am in the panhandle of Texas. You are getting it first.
ReplyDeleteHope your baby lettuces survive!!
70 today, 72 tomorrow when it will start raining and we will get up to 3 inches of rain Wednesday and Thursday with possible very severe weather. Then it will drop to 37 Thursday night. At least it won’t be raining Friday for the first Mardi Gras parade in the city that originated Mardi Gras.
ReplyDeleteWe have sunshine today--one of three days in the last month. It was coat-free weather on Sunday9in the high 40s. But it's going to drop again to below freezing for the rest of the week. The gray skies are hardest to take! Mary in MN
ReplyDelete64 degrees and sun yesterday and the day before , today for a week rain and highs of 30's and possible snow at the end of the week.

In the 60's here in SE Ga. Clear, maybe a bit of overcast at times.
ReplyDeleteI distinguish SE Ga from the rest of the state b/c there IS a diff in weather, due to the 'fall line', elevation, patterns, ect. It can snow in Atlanta, down to Macon, but we're in flip flops. Weird.
Here in Northeast PA, we are at 60 degrees today. I know crazy! Rainy & cloudy, too.

Above freezing. Plenty of mud. I have to go out and give the dogs a pre-dinner walk; they've been in the pen all day and will be COVERED in mud. It will be colder tomorrow; this has been an amazingly warm period for Jan and Feb. Make sure A checks the ewes. You might not want a lamb born tonight.
ReplyDeleteI read your post as "zero IN our house", and wondered why you were only concerned about the lettuce. I know you're from hardy stock, but sheesh, ha ha!
