Snapshots: Yay, Spring!

In honor of the Vernal Equinox, I present to you . . .

Rhubarb!

Dutch iris!

Cabbages and kohlrabi starts planted outside! (Under milk jugs, because they need shelter from the sun and wind as much as from the cold here.)

And exploring lambs.

There you have it! My (spring) life, snapshotted.

  2. Probably iris reticulata at this early date. I spied a couple yesterday (they are survivors, having come back after sheep!).

  3. MiL:I didn't have iris reticulata listed among the ones I planted, although it might have been in one of the mixes so I didn't write it down.

  5. There’s nothing like those first few signs of spring! I have those same irises (irii?) My Dad planted them and called them Siberian irises.

  6. Should have searched before I commented! Now I know that your mil knows her stuff! My Siberian irises flowers look a lot like yours, but reticulated grow close to the ground and bloom now. Siberian are much taller and the leaves look like long grass. Only my snowdrops are blooming but lots of green stuff is popping up by the hour!
