A Dog's Life

Leda the Fluffball demonstrates how to keep cool when it's 90 degrees and you're wearing a non-removable fur coat:
Hide out in the Pit of Despair and remain completely immobile.

I'd be tempted to check her breathing! Or at least her "nosplae" according to the word verification!

How large is the pit of despair? Do you think previous owners may have taken refuge down there as well when it was oppresively hot? Do you keep your potatoes down there? Is it cool enough for that?
Nice of you to plug Leda in while she is down there. :)

It's as big as the original part of the house, which means it's four separate rooms. Big. There were no "previous owners," except A.'s grandparents and great-grandparents, etc. No one ever goes down there if it can be avoided, because it's dirty and dank and dark. But the dogs love it in the summer.

Yes, we store our potatoes there. They keep all winter and into the spring.
