Good lord, we didn't even have appetizers! and only two desserts! How do you store all this? I have to put all my skills to work just to get everything put away. Mary in MN
Do you have enough left, we can come for leftovers ?
Mom went a little nuts this year ham, turkey, lobster tails, oyster casserole, dumplin's, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes/gravy, cauliflower salad, dressing, pecan, pumpkin , blueberry pies. FOR 8 people.
Oh, we didn't COOK all of this. We didn't even host this year--A.'s cousin did. This represents the contributions of many family members. We brought the parsnips, potatoes, smoked trout, and two pies. And all we have for leftovers are some potatoes and pie.
I think that is THE way to go...have everyone bring something...but at mom's even IF we bring something she still fixes way too much. Always been that way ...so I quit fighting it and just give in.\

My word verification is "crype" and it is oh-so appropriate: cripes, that's a lotta food!
:-)
My dinner yesterday doesn't count for your poll, as Canadian Thanksgiving is in October. So, THEN, I hosted a small family dinner -- just myself and hubby, our son and his girlfriend. Do I still call her "his girlfriend", btw? They live together in a condo they bought...."girlfriend" seems like a lame thing to say now.
Anyway.....I made turkey, two kinds of stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry-orange relish, roasted rutabaga, broccoli with cheese, brussels sprouts with bacon, plus we had raw baby carrots and dill pickles. No apps and I forgot to buy buns. A really nice reisling and then both apple pie and pumpkin pie for dessert. And coffee of your choice (we bought a Keurig a couple of months ago). Nowhere near as magnificent as your feast!
Good gracious...I can't imagine cooking that much. Where are the pictures?
What did I have? Well first Thanksgiving as a vegan so not very much, lol!

We started with chips and three types of dips. Then onto the turkey, stuffing, rolls, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, broccoli, corn, cranberry sauce, roasted butternut squash and gravy. I made none of these things. But for dessert we had pumpkin pie, apple pie, cherry pie, Chocolate cake, brownies and an assortment of cupcakes. I made the chocolate cake and brownies. My family knows I can't be trusted to actually cook anything edible but baking is safe. And amazing enough there wasn't much left over. It was a wonderful meal and lots of laughing.
Yum! Ours was mostly traditional: turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce. Husband tried something new this year; arroz con gandules - rice with pigeon peas (Jamaican beans). It was delicious!
Holy cow...I would have taken that menu as a challenge to eat some of everything! Sounds wonderful. I was at work, so I had a chicken sandwich..hehe. Had a nice day anyway. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
SInce we are wintering in AZ, along with a gazillion other people who are not near family, a group of about 21 people got together to celebrate the holiday. Everyone brought something to the meal. We had turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes/gravy, sweet potatoes made three different ways, green bean casserole, carrots, 2 different salads, jello, home made buns, pumpkin pies, cake and fudge. I think that about covered it!
WOW! I was hoping that you didn't cook all of that food! What a marvelous menu. Looks like a true feast.
Who in the whole wide world MADE all of that? And, if everyone had their own individual creme caramel, who ate all those pies?
Some year, I want to come to YOUR house for Thanksgiving. It sounds fantastic.
We smoked the turkey, that's all I remember. It was good.
