Springing

The peas are planted! A single Very Fancy Tulip survived the voracious gophers last year and is coming up near the driveway! I'm eating (a small amount of) arugula!

And the apricot tree by the door is in full and very impressive bloom.

Hello, Spring. We're so happy to see you again.

All things positive in this negative time.
(still jealous of your arugula!)

Think about where you might like to try Iris reticulata. I will be able to send you some bulbs, which I will separate when the foliage dies down and before it disappears entirely. It's only the old dark purple that is thick enough to want division. As you can imagine, the bulbs are about 1/2 inch in diameter, so you will not need a big space. I would guess that gophers would eat them, so a wire cage might not be a bad idea.

Hope you remain frost free and the bees are out pollinating. You may need bushels of apricots to go with all the lamb you are going to have. Lamb chops and apricots go well together don't they?
