Is there anything more pathetic than a puppy wearing one of those Elizabethan collars?
Yes, there is: A puppy wearing one of those Elizabethan collars who still tries to play with the other dogs.
P.S. Not to worry. Rita just had some fleas and bit some raw spots into her back. She has to remain under indoor incarceration and collar torture until they heal up some.

I don't remember where I saw this, but somebody put their dog in an old sweater instead of the cone. Seemed to do the trick for them and was more comfortable for the dog...
Poor puppy, she does look pitiful...
If they happen to be 'hot spots' bare places hair chewed away and not fleas. The best thing for that is to keep corn starch on it, just load it up and rub it in, as many times as you have to , to keep it dry. Sometimes they keep after it and sometimes they leave it alone. It dries it up and the hair will come back in.
What a pitiful face she is giving us. She's smart though. That look would make me feed her treats 24/7.
Dogs always muster up the most pitiful faces when wearing a cone. Poor pup!
Pitiful is indeed the word. To wit, one of my recent posts:

The collar is gone now and my shins are SO thankful!
Seriously, the sight of this ALWAYS makes me so sad. Poor thing.
Whenever anyone comes into work with their dog in a cone like that, we try to cheer up the dogs by calling it a "Treat Cone" and throw treats in it all day.
They seem to get over the cone when they can dump out treats on the floor and eat them.
Um, it's me, the freak, again. Noticing the background of your photo.
Your walk and yard look lovely.
Seriously. Post more photos.
Awww, look at those EYES! Did she get the eyebrow thing going, too?
Does the bell peal? Lance
Awww....poor puppy.
