All Grown Up

I watched "Footloose" for the first time in a long time last night. Besides the fantastic 80s music and the opportunity to giggle at 80s dancing, it provided me with incontrovertible evidence that since the last time I've seen it, I have become an adult.

Remember the scene where Ren and Chuck play chicken with tractors? And remember how Chuck ends up rolling the tractor over an embankment? I actually said, out loud, with no trace of sarcasm in my voice, "Oh no. Such an expensive piece of farm equipment."

Yikes.

Too funny, we had a footlong footloose party several years ago and ate footlong hotdogs and watched footloose with a bunch of friends. I love love love the dancing, so funny.

Maybe instead of grownup you have become a homesteader? ;) Not all grownups would have made that comment, but all homesteaders would ! Welcome home.

HA! I must confess that I think I've only seen that movie once. In the theatres. That's how old I am. But now I want to watch it again!

Wait till you say things to your child and then realize you sound like your mother. Gah. It's frightening. So many things that I swore I would never say to my kid.

I saw the footloose music video at the gym recently and was shocked (and a little embarassed!) at how high Kevin Bacon's pants were!

I agree with anonymous. You've just become as they say, a homesteader. I would have said a farmer! LOL!

HA!

I have those moments every time I watch one of my old fave movies - which definitely includes Footloose.

Rewatching the scene where the preacher's daughter (what was her name? It was something weird - Ariel? Anyway.) was straddling the two cars I thought - Oh my god she's going to be killed. And how far away is the hospital? They're out in the middle of nowhere!

Meanwhile, when I was a kid watching that movie, I just thought she was cool and should definitely jump and I couldn't figure out why her friends were being so lame.

Sucks to grow up.

Don't post it if you're not feeling it. There's nothing worse than phoning it in.

Oops, that was supposed to be on the other post ... the one that linked to this one. Nevermind. Feel free to delete both of these.
