Showered

Okay. Your long, impatient wait is over. I know I totally ruined your week last week by teasing you with hints of baby shower photos and then never posting any. Because my life is so entertaining and all-consuming for other people. OBVIOUSLY.

ANYWAY.

My sister sent me the photos she took. So, without further ado I present: The Shower.

There was food.

Artfully arranged, of course.

There was cake.

Specifically, this cake. YUM.

There was family*.

My mom, me, and my sister.

There were numerous gifts, many stories about babies and other things, quite a few probably inappropriate but nonetheless highly entertaining jokes, and laughter. Lots of that.

It was a good party. I guess all that's left to do now is for me to actually have the baby, right? Right.

Eek.

* Actually, there was lots more family. These are just the members of MY family that were there.

Your TWIN sister? I have to comment on the beer bottle on the table. You do look MAHVAHLUS dearie. The man-cub will grow up having to have that peanut butter cake for his birthday every year.
your sis from another mother/dad.

word verification - sothiv

I sothiv thought we might see baby gifts too?
Are we asking for too much....probably. :)

Glad your pregnancy seems to be so easy for you. Power on.

Anonymous: Do I, um, know you? Because I don't really get the whole "sister from another mother/dad" thing.

As for my real sister . . . no, she is not my twin. She's four years older, in fact.

*Giggling* at the 'nother mother post.

I thought that "Anonymous" found you her spiritual "sister" so it's nothing creepy. But I could be wrong. . . Anyway, a man-cub gift going in the mail to you this week. Wish it could contain a Faribault Woolen Mill blanket but they aren't in business anymore, thanks to the recession.

Another Anonymous (well, really Mary in MN)

What fun! You look lovely and the cake is absolutely to die for. Wow. So how much longer do you have to go?

Woo! Shower with fancy cake!

And, more importantly, it appears no one was serving quiche at your shower, which I absolutely appreciate.

Why must baby and bridal showers always be a "brunch" involving hideous breakfast foods like quiche? Filthy.

Your shower, however, looks perfect with its peanut butter cake and champagne. And you, dahling, look fantastic :)

Um. One month to go.

I still find that hard to believe.

No dont know you at all'cept from your blog...we just go through a lot of the same things here that you do out in the country so I feel a sisterhood of the country life , was what I was sayin'. Guess I will stop that now . Don't want to freak anyone out. Beth

OH MY GOD LOOK AT THAT CAKE. WANT. Also, you look great! Yay!

Verificatio word: undetry. Only one more month until you can fit back into your pre-pregnancy undetry.

You look fantastic. And I really wish someone would bake that cake for me. Anyone? Hello?

You look fantastic, Kristin!

Anonymous has a name! No, Beth, I wasn't actually creeped out; I really did wonder if you were someone I knew in real life and that phrase was supposed to be a clue so I would know who you were. Anyway . . .

RLS: I haven't yet had to get any different undetry. I'm not sure why this is, but I'm not complaining about not having to buy yet one more specialized maternity product.

That cake looks so delish.

For being due Feb. 22, you don't look that big. ... You're so luck you're having a Pisces.
