Bad News for Our Cream Consumption

As everyone knows, having one's coffee the correct way is a very serious matter. A. and I both put cream in our coffee. Given the amount of coffee we drink--which is a lot, thanks to the two puppies + four children situation we are currently in--that means we use a lot of cream.

Luckily for us, the tiny grocery store ten miles away carries cream.

Unluckily for us, I just found out that the tiny grocery store ten miles away will be closing at the end of December. This means we will be sixty miles away from cream, produce, and, well, pretty much everything else.*

Serious, serious bummer.

* Barring a last-minute sale to a new owner, that is. However, considering that the business has been for sale for over a year with no buyers, I'm not counting on that.

I may know of someone interested in buying this. Would it be possible for you to email me any info you have on it?

You might avoid dairy for the puppies--except for cottage cheese. Would that help? Mary in MN

Pippa: If you e-mail me at the address in the left sidebar, I'll respond with the information. And if you are indirectly responsible for saving my source of cream, we'll owe you big time. :-)

Eek ... I think you might need to start stocking up on shelf-stable dairy AND non-dairy milk! I think non-dairy milk might last longer. Also, have you guys considered buying the store?? ;)

Sheila and Linda: That was the first thing we talked about. Probably more likely to get dairy goats, though. No cream that way (the milk is naturally homogenized), but then I wouldn't have to deal with multiple gallons of milk a day, either. Goats require less pasture, too.

Mary: Do you give your dogs dairy? We don't give the puppies anything but their dry food and leftovers sometimes, so they don't contribute to the cream consumption. Other than their habit of needing to go out and requiring us to do that when we would rather be sleeping, this leading to more coffee with cream for us. :-)

LIF: We did consider it. It's a little much for us, though, to run a full-time, six-days-a-week business at this stage of our lives.

No, I never give the dogs dairy! I misunderstood about a direct cream consumption by the puppies. Mary in MN

Now , if Pippa knows someone to buy the store , it will be considered a miracle by me. But , that would also be great for the whole area as well.
Goats, why not? Hee.
