I had to bring a child to the clinic for school vaccinations in a town with a feed store, so I stopped to get four three-string bales of alfalfa.
Do you know how much a three-string bale of alfalfa weighs? Yeah, I didn't either. They weigh around a hundred pounds or more. I managed to get them all loaded into the van--with a lot of lifting with my legs and flipping bales end over end--but I forgot to bring gloves and a long-sleeved shirt with me.
And this was the result. Ow.

We have entered a new era in our household: the era of teenage boys and their project trucks.
We are now the owners of a 1982 Dodge Power Ram, which means our teenage son's first vehicle will be almost as old as his parents.

Good luck to your son with the project truck! My boys will help their dad with auto/truck repair, but none has ever developed a strong interest in it. Though the Haynes manual is the first thing we buy when we get a "new" car. And a project truck makes gift giving easy- there's always a new part, accessory, or tool that's needed.

Does the arm itch too? Great for the boys, I learned so much about vehicle goings on by helping my husband. I have changed oil in a VW Super Beetle and Points, plugs , rotor and condenser on a 9N ford tractor.
Can usually diagnose the problem on a vehicle, then youtube it to do the repair. On older models...today's computer driven vehicles usually need a tech.
No, it never itched. It wasn't an allergic reaction to the hay. Those are all little cuts. My mom said my arm looks swollen in the photo, and I can see that the angle does make it look that way. It never swelled, though.
