I love the sight of successfully canned pickled beets in the morning.
If you've ever wondered what a bushel of beets looks like, wonder no more.
A. found a dead mudpuppy in the gully the other day and brought it home to show Cubby. Not quite as gross as a lamprey, but mudpuppies are also capable of biting humans. Not, obviously, when they're dead, however.
That's all. You may carry on with your Sunday now, duckies.

That's a real thing? Good god, that's some stone-age fauna there.
What is a mudpuppy? Now I'm going to have google it. =) Those are some beautiful beets. I canned beets for the first time this summer and love them.
The hubs was wondering what a bushel of turnips and beets are going for up there? We have turnips in the garden as well. I do love beets, especially freshly cooked, just slipped from the skin and popped in my mouth.Yum.
I wanted a picture of the NEW corduroy shirt.
Was Cubby beside himself with the lamb in the house? Beth
