This Can't Be Healthy

The bamboo shade on our bedroom window is covered in a thin film of greenish mold. Time to break out the Lysol.

For those of you who long to live in a grand historical home, specifically a stone historical home: Are you prepared for moldy window blinds? Because they come along with the history.

Yuck. Dehumidifier?

Word verification....phorted. Sounds like something with a foul odor.

I think it's time for some new blinds, not just Lysol. But, then again, new blinds might just mold again, so you've probably got it right.

Personally, I prefer curtains, mostly because it is easy to take them down and wash them, which is good for me and my cat, since both us of have allergies.

I think a dehumidifier would be a good idea too. Can you use a little bit of bleach to get rid of the mold? Maybe a weak solution and some mild soap?

I vote for a whole house dehumidifier . But, then I am not paying for it either. But, I do vote for a dehumidifier just the same.

I've never met either of you, but I don't see A. going for a dehumidifier. Maybe you could make blinds out of packets of silica gel?

I guess I'm old-fashioned....I'm thinking that if you're preggers you shouldn't really be breathing in mould, or breathing in Lysol for that matter. Something to think about.

(That doesn't make much sense now, does it.....I think I'm coming down with something....my head is fuzzy.)
