But let us try this handy calculation for my situation. Just for entertainment purposes.
4 people
+ 3 dogs
+ 2 cats
----------
9 days
+ 3 dogs
+ 2 cats
----------
9 days
So I'm supposed to be cleaning my house nine days a week. That's super.
I'm going to have another cup of coffee now.

Well according to that calculation I need to clean my house 6 days a week (4 people 2 cats), please let me know what 1 day of the week no one is going to make a mess? Because right now I am over doing it, cleaning my house daily...
I'm no math whiz, but how about this: for every person and pet in your house, that is one less day you have to clean per week, because they should be cleaning up after their own damn selves. (I am tired of the animals using "no opposable thumbs" as an excuse.)
Well, I guess I am REALLY slacking. I clean when I feel like it and it is rarely a whole day long. :) 2 peeps, 2 pups, 1 ruling cat. And I might add do you clean the same amount of days for a chihuahua as a st bernard? Inquiring minds want to know and Martha Stewart world be danged. If I could afford her staff and her budget, my house could look like hers too. Or the good housekeeping test kitchen. This post totally made me laugh out loud at how goofy the folks that write these things sound. They DO NOT live in the real world. :) Beth
Not cleaning today either.
Amen to jive turkey , she has the right idea.

the best supper you ever had
Chores expand to fill the time you give them. If you plan to spend four hours a day cleaning, you can find something to clean for four hours.
If you plan for one hour every third Tuesday, as long as nothing good is on TV, then guess what? You'll get something done in that one hour and decide that's as clean as your house needs to be.

Apparently I should be cleaning 7 days a week. I do clean something every day, but it is usually the kitchen after having made dinner, so I am not sure it counts. How often do I dust and give the house a good thorough clean? Um, I'd have to say it's not going to happen unless company is coming over within 24 hours.
I love the foot in the picture holding Cubby up. Very involved parenting, as well as efficient use of energy. Hey, that stored energy could be used to clean, right, or maybe just to enjoy watching the spontaneous play of a creative little Tank. Lay back dog plus 9 month old makes for a perfect match.
Yay! I only have to clean three days a week!
Except when it's the month before finals. Then I don't care if we wallow in our own filth.
Like we're doing now.
But hopefully my brain won't explode by Saturday and I'll be able to make it all nice and tidy for the first time in several weeks.
I'll have to advise the cleaning lady that she's gypping us on 3 days of required cleaning per week.
Slacker.
I don't like the new math.
Sounds like a variation on a Beatles tune! 9 Days a Week... I sweep, dust, mop, and love you.
